Thai Yoga Massage

Tmc-group-pic2008

I have completed 90 hours of Comprehensive Thai Yoga Massage at the Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai, Thailand.

The staff of teachers and directors are all extremely knowledgeable and kind (and fun! – see photo). I knew from the first day that I had chosen a great school, if not the best, to continue learning the foundations of Thai Massage at. The courses are certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) and the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) as a continuing education provider.

The curriculum is based on the Thai Massage Revival Project. Thai Massage exemplifies the “Four Divine States of Mind”, of Buddhist teaching: loving kindness, compassion, vicarious joy, and equanimity. These are collectively known in Thai as the “Promwihan See”. The benefits of Thai Massage are equally physical and holistic (and I am already feeling more bendy and way less stress after just over a week). Thai Massage helps improve circulation, flexibility, stress management (stress management alone is a good enough reason to get any type of massage!), joint strength and also eases anxiety and can aid creativity.

Many of the techniques are perfect for table and chair massage in addition to the traditional floor mat. I’m looking forward to offering Thai massage to all of my clients!
